Compare the conditions of today’s economic crisis versus when President Franklin D. Roosevelt introduced his New Deal for the country, during America’s depression era.  What are some of the current threats to family and individual security?  Discuss whether families and communities should ban closer together or is it survival of the fittest theory from the text when Charles Darwin used Herbert Spencer’s phrase “survival of the fittest” as an analogy for natural selection. State your view and beliefs.  What are the different solutions offered from conservative and liberal views on today’s poverty, America experience, and concepts of Social Welfare?
